News for the week of July 29th to August 4th:
Residents gathered in the East Dining Room on Sunday to listen to wonderful accordion music played by Fritz. We appreciate him driving all the way from Chetek to entertain us.
We took advantage of the beautiful weather on Monday to grill on our flip flop charcoal grills. We gathered in the gazebo to watch the chicken cook. This time we basted the chicken with barbeque sauce. It wasn’t long and the chicken was ready to serve. After tasting it, all agreed, it is really good! We look forward to a few more grill outs before the summer is over. Monday afternoon our Pins and Needles sewing group got together to work on fleece boa scarves. We made some from red and white fleece. We choose the colors hoping it would entice some of the local Colfax Vikings fans to purchase them at our craft sale in November. Meanwhile, the men got together to watch a video called Horse Power. It showed how horses were used in the woods to pull logs out. They were used in places that tractors could not go. Some remembered watching local teams working in the woods around Colfax.
